The Project Monitoring Team (PMT) of Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) IX visited on-going major road and irrigation projects in Zamboanga del Sur (ZDS) and Zamboanga Sibugay (ZS) on July 4-8, 2022. The PMT comprised of representatives from NEDA, DOLE, and staff from the Provincial Planning and Development Office of Zamboanga del Sur.
The projects visited by the RPMC IX PMT were implemented by the National Irrigation Administration IX, consisting of the Sibuguey Valley Irrigation System Projects in Bayog, ZDS and Buug and Diplahan, ZS. The Department of Public Works and Highways IX Road projects such as the Zamboanga del Sur Coastal Road, Sominot-Dumingag Bypass Road and Sominot-Mahayag Bypass Road were likewise visited by the PMT.
The concerned implementing agencies presented to the RPMC PMT the profiles and implementation bottlenecks of the projects to be inspected during the pre-departure meeting on July 03, 2022. An exit conference with the IAs was done on July 07, 2022, to discuss the initial observations and recommendations of the team. Both meetings were convened at the NEDA IX Kalikasan Assembly Hall in Pagadian City. The team’s firmed-up findings and recommendations were presented during the 3rd Quarter regular meeting cum Problem-Solving Session of RPMC IX on August 18, 2022. The recommendations of RPMC IX were subsequently endorsed by the Regional Development Council IX to the concerned entities for appropriate action through Resolution No. 088, series of 2022 during its 178th regular meeting on September 6, 2022.
