The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) IX, as the secretariat of the Regional Development Council (RDC) IX, conducted the 2nd Regional Consultation-Workshop on the formulation of the Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2023-2028 on 16 November 2022 at Mardale Hotel, Pagadian City.  A total of 104 participants from the regional line agencies, local government units (LGUs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), representative of congresspersons, as well as representatives from the private sector attended the meeting.

Discussed during the consultation-workshop were the milestones on the formulation of the ZamPen RDP 2023-2028, updated situationer on the Zamboanga Peninsula Vision, overall challenges and strategies, and the draft 18 chapters of the ZamPen RDP 2023-2028. The activity aimed to generate additional inputs, such as the targets for 2023-2028, to further enhance the draft plan. NEDA IX Director Phlorita A. Ridao presented the purpose of the activity.  

The participants were grouped into their respective sectoral committees namely, economic, social, development administration and finance, and infrastructure to review and validate the draft ZamPen RDP. Each group provided additional inputs on the challenges, indicators/targets, strategies, legislative agenda, and priority programs and projects that contained the consolidated inputs of the sector/subsector generated during the 1st regional consultation on September 7, 2022, and the area consultations on October 25 in Pagadian City; October 27 in Ipil; November 3 in Dipolog City and Isabela City; November 4 in Zamboanga City. The generated inputs in the workshop would be processed and consolidated for presentation during sectoral committee meeting scheduled on the following dates: (a) Development Administration and Finance on November 17, 2022; (b) Regional Social Development Committee on November 22, 2022; Economic Development Committee on November 24, 2022 and Infrastructure Development Committee on November 25, 2022.
